Oslo Excursion 2023

From 11 to 18 July 2023, a group of six students from the Department went on an excursion to Oslo with Arnt Sundstøl, a member of the language teaching unit for Norwegian. The excursion group visited important institutions and buildings in the city, such as the Town Hall, the Town Library, the Opera House, Gustav Vigeland's sculpture park, and Akershus Fortress. A key part of the programme was a visit to the Universitetet i Oslo, where the participants were given a look behind the scenes of the HumSam-biblioteket. At the university's Senter for Ibsen-studier, they were given an insight into current research on Henrik Ibsen and his work, and the summer school organised an exchange with Norwegian learners from all over the world. The programme also included visits to various museums, often accompanied by guided tours in Norwegian. The group visited the Nasjonalmuseet, the Historisk Museum, the Munch Museum and the Folkemuseum, where you can visit the Gol Stave Church, among other things. When the weather permitted, the group searched for rock carvings on the Ekeberg, hiked to the Holmenkollen ski jump, to Vettakollen and to Sognsvann. The participants returned to Greifswald with a wide range of exciting experiences and new knowledge about Norway's capital.
