The Nordischer Klang Festival in Greifswald is organised by the cultural association Nordischer Klang e.V., which is associated with the Department of Finnish and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Greifswald.

Nordischer Klang invites you to exciting, communicative cultural experiences. Interstudies project series "Neue Nordische Novellen"

Finnish, Scandinavian spokespersons

The Neue Nordische Novellen (NNN) project, which is part of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities' key field of research in the Baltic Sea region, aims to make a lasting contribution to improving practical professional skills. Students translate short prose from Northern Europe, the Baltic region and the Slavic-speaking countries in language-specific groups. Students translate short prose from Northern Europe, the Baltic region and the Slavic-speaking countries in language-specific groups. The translations are published in an anthology. The novellas are supplemented by illustrations and short poetry texts that form a dialogue with the short prose. The joint translation of the texts proved successful in the four editions of NNN.

The project provided future translators of various different languages with a networking opportunity and imparted practical knowledge about the publishing and translation industry. Such early networking with those involved in international cultural exchange is often an elementary requirement for a successful start to professional life. Practical skills in dealing with databases as well as successful project organisation and implementation significantly improve the chances of starting a career in several different fields.
