Introductory courses at the Department of Finnish and Scandinavian Studies

All introductory courses consist of modules totalling 20 ECTS credits. An introductory course must always be different from the two main subjects of the degree course. Introductory courses belonging to Optional Studies can generally be selected without prior knowledge. If the 20 ECTS credits in the introductory course are not completed in full, the credits earned are automatically recognised in the “Languages and Interdisciplinary Skills” section of Optional Studies.

Specialisation Courses at the Department of Finnish and Scandinavian Studies

All specialisation courses consist of modules totalling 20 ECTS. Choosing a specialisation course provides you with the opportunity to acquire additional in-depth knowledge in one of the two main subjects of your degree course. A specialisation course can be chosen from the 3rd semester at the earliest, as prior knowledge of the subject in which you would like to specialise is generally required. If the 20 ECTS credits for the specialisation course are not completed in full, the credits earned are automatically recognised in the "Languages and Interdisciplinary Skills" section of Optional Studies.
